David made this table top (nearest the fireplace) in 2011, using oak. The other rough, frost-damaged oak boards (cost €20 from a sawmill) have been made into 1-metre long planters for the garden.
The table is 3 metres long, and the picture below shows (top right) the oak for the frame and legs which had yet to be constructed when the picture was taken.
That is stunning, in my humble opinion.
